About the design
A panda does not negotiate with a moon. It sits, it stares, it howls, and that is the entire agenda. Bamboo stalks, splintered wood, forty pounds of jaw muscle behind a face built like a stuffed animal — that is the joke nature already told.
Pandas can strip a bear-strength paw swipe out of something built to look cuddly, and in some old mountain villages they were said to ward off spirits and floods, guardians mistaken for pets. Howl at the moon in this one. Nobody's laughing, least of all the panda.
