About the design

A selkirk rex looks like it lost a fight with static electricity and won a moral victory instead. The coat is the whole story: matted curls, tufts going the wrong way, a permanent case of just-woke-up. Under all that disorder is a body built like any other cat — it can still land a jump, still stalk a moth with total focus. The fur just refuses to cooperate with the rest of the plan.

Cats howling at the moon were supposedly bad luck once, messengers slipping between one world and the next. This one looks less like an omen and more like it rolled out of a storm drain and decided the moon owed it an explanation. Dignity doesn't require tidiness. You'll believe it by the second glance.
