About the garment

This is the Comfort Colors 1717 blank. Ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed for a soft, lived-in colour from the first wear. The fit is relaxed and unisex, with a twill-taped neck and shoulders. Each shirt is printed one at a time, to order.

About the design

The axolotl never grew up, and it isn't going to. It kept the feathery gill-plumes, the flat pink grin, the whole soft larval body it was supposed to outgrow. It looks like it couldn't survive a bad afternoon. It can regrow a leg, a jaw, a piece of its own heart.

Aztec legend says the god Xolotl dodged his own sacrifice by turning into one, and supposedly he's still down there, refusing to finish the job. Refusing to grow up turns out to be a survival strategy. This one just howls about it.
