About the design
A selkirk rex does not have fur so much as an argument with fur. Matted curls, crimped tufts, a coat that looks like it lost a fight with a towel dryer. Under all that chaos is a body built for nothing in particular — stocky, short-legged, not built to leap, not built to prowl. It just sits there, magnificently rumpled, and howls anyway.
Cat mythology has always made room for the scruffy ones; witches' familiars were rarely groomed show cats, and folklore says the moon favors the ones who look like they crawled out of something. This one is rendered in cold moonlight — white, silver, ash grey, pale ice blue, with violet and teal deep in the shadow, all coarse overspray and gritty speckle against black, exactly as crude and faithful as the original nature tee demanded. Dishevelment is not a flaw here. It's the whole résumé. You don't clean up for the moon. You just show up.
